Program Options for Students 6-8 Years of Age

Little Girl Dancing

Foundations of Musical Theatre

Students will be introduced to the foundations of acting and performing. Students will learn how to improve their auditioning skills, natural posture and movement, as well as overcoming their fear of the stage and/or public speaking. This course will incorporate music and choreography from a wide variety of musicals. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents during the winter and spring productions held at the end of each semester.

Musical Theatre I

Students will continue to build upon skills gained in the foundations of Musical Theatre. This course will help students to strengthen their skills in areas such as costume design, prop-use, make-up and lighting. Through various activities and tasks, students will expand their knowledge of stage presence, projection, rhythm and choreography. All students will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents during the winter and spring productions held at the end of each semester.

Comedy Tragedy Masks

Theatre & Performing

This course is designed to help students gain a detailed understanding of the production process, working on concepts such as set design, props, costuming and auditioning techniques. Students will work both collectively and independently prior to the end of each semester. All students will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents during the winter and spring productions held at the end of each semester.
